FIB FBEBB ABBOOIITIO*. Auoklasd, January 9. Gold returns for the Auckland district for the past three weeks/though operations were inteifered with by the holidays, reichei the satisfactory to'al of £53,632. This brings the total for 1901 (still incomplete) to £7*40,356, an | increase over 1900 of £105,326. During the period commenoing Decern' ber 7th and ending December 31st, the Waihi Gald Mining Company's mills were Engaged for only 14 days, a total of 6921 tons being treated, in addition to a parcel of slimes, for the splendid return of £29,382. The toUl output from the mine for th« year just closed amounts to £454,386, bringing the gross yield ti date to £1,974,512.
