AUCKLAND CITY LOAN.

PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, January 9. Tenders for the Auckland Oity loan' of £45,000 were opened to-night, i There were 16 tenders, ranging from £IOO to £25,000, the total amount being £49,600. Of this, £2OOO was at a premium of £1 per cent., £3OOO at 15s, £SOO at 2s 6d, and the balance, £44,100, at par. The tender of £25,000 was from the Auckland Savings Sink, the remainder being private tenders in sums up to £3OOO. It was decided to leive the matter of acceptance in the hands of the Mayor and ohairman of I the Finance Committee.

The Mayor stated that about April next the Council would be calling for another £IO,OOO, being the thira instalment of the last iSIOOjOOO loan authorised.
