The witnesses for the prosecution deposed that when tbe, licensee found it too late to get a permit he informed the banquet committee that he would make no charge and supply no liquor. The magistrate, however, said there had been a brcaeh of the law, and fined defendant £5. This was raised euowquen'ly by oae shilling, to allow an appeal.
