GENERAL SIR HECTOR MACDONALD.
ARRIVAL IN WELLINGTON. PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, October 31. General Sir Hector Macdonald arrived by the Mararoa at noon to-day, and was enthusiastically received by a large assemblage, including representa--1 tives of the Governor, the Government (Sir Joseph Ward), end l ed bodies. The Government and other offices were closed for a couple of hours, and the shipping was decorated. An address was p esent d to the General on the wharr, on bulalf of the city, to which he mule a b<M reply, expressing his app.eciation of the exceedingly hearty reception given him here and throughout the colony. He was then driven through die ring crowd* to Government II mis •, where he will a'ay while in Wellington. '
