RIFLE SHOOTING COMPETITION. The first; shooting competion for dock and + ■ phies took place at the Franklu - ■ ! range yesterday. There was noi .-I very large muster. Ranges 200 and 300 yards. The light was good and the wind strong from the light. Principal scores:

Remainder below 59. Colour-Sergeant Okey made the possible at the 200 yds. range. On being requested to try for a 10 shot possible he did so and succeeded. This is the first possible for many years on the range at an Bin. bull's-eye. Lieutenant Cook is to be congratulated on obtaining the highest marks of any of tbe officers attending the School of Instruction. He gained special mention and distinguished mention in several of the subjects.
