TEACHERS' SAURIES.
PHB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, September 3, The Auckland Educa'ion Board while admitting the commission's report contained many recommendations in the best interests of the teachers, condemned the ecrfle of sala<ies d>*awi up for t achers of sma 1 »cbools id country districts as inadequate, and opposed the proposal to fix the maximum salaries for first assistant fernalt teachers on the same level as for m iles. An opinion was also generally expressed that there was too great a disparity between the sihriea for first assistants, both male snd female, and the remaining assistants.
