At a meeting of the Management Committee of the N\iw Zealand Rugby Union at Wellington on Monday, a W,'or was rf.id from the Tarunaki Union stating that the Union had decided not to take part in the suggested rombined match with Wanganui agvinsc the New South Wales team, aod asking tha' a provincial match might b<3 arranged. It was decided to reply that a match could not be arranged, as it had been agreed that two clear days' rest should be given the visitors between each match.
The Hawura Star says: —As to the result of the final with Tukapa, w« have heard that Opunake has "no show." But we may say that we have 1 seen, before thi?, some clever combinations upsat by strong forwards and sure aod hard tackling; by the backs, A few points need attention: Opunakn need to be a bit quicker on the bill when the scrum breaks; also, np time is to he lost in heeling out when possession of the ball is once' gained by tho forwards, otherwise the opposing half will spoil the pass. The bocks should tackla low.
