(FKOM OUtt OWS CORRESPONDENT). A wicll con'es'ei football match was played at 0 ikuiu on Saturd'y, the 17 th in-t., between the Koru portion and the Oakura portion o? ths Kaitaki dub. Mr. S. Meredith captained the Koru portion, who designate! themselves " Tho Patua's," and Mr. H. P. Mills captained the Oikura portion, and Mr. Shaw ac'ei as referee The game was a f-st one throughout, and ended in a win for the Oikura portion by a goal to a try. Mils touched down for Oikura, which wis converted, and E. 0. Meredith secured the try for the Patua's. After the mitch the teams adjourned to Tom Smart's, where many of ttie incidents of the day were fought over again. I hcnr a return match is to be plvyel on Saturday week, when I should not be surp' ised to sew the Patua's cjme out on top. Mr. P. Cavringtoa lost one of hif working bullocks oa t'ie Plymouthroad Inst week. He bad gone up tc the mill fo- some timber, when owing vo the wretched state of the road, the bullock fell and broke its neck.
