BOROUGH COUNCIL.
SPKCIAL MEETING, A srEcrAL meeting of the Borough Council w»s hold at 10.30 a.m, on Tiusiay Present: Means. Brojking, Lealsnd, Carter, Clow, Vra'e, and lisch. Mr. Brooking was elected Chairman. Mr. Carter moved, " That a"! a token of sympathy and regret, as also to enable tha many who wish to attnnd the [funeral cf the late Mr. J/mes B.llringer, this mteting of the Borough Council respectfully suggests to the rad speopleof the Borough that where ever convenient the busine.s places should be closed from soy 1 to 3 o'clock on Wednesday af'eruoon" Mr. Cbw seconded the motion, -which was carried, Mr. Brooking moved, " That the Borough Council on record at this, the earliest opportunity, their deep regret at the loss to the Borough and district of one who has been so intimately connected with their progress and activities as the late Mr, James Btlhinger, a loss which can only be fully realised as the neol of his experience and advice are felt in the widened duties of the Council and ■ ther bodies ; and a it is further resolv, d ihat a suitable memorial be prepared for adoption at tlw next regular meeting of the Council, for insertion in the official records of the Borough." Mr. Clow seconded the motion, which was carried.
