Everything was done by his family, his friends, and his med'c 1 adviser to give relief, and lately r was thought he hud c-aside'ably improved. On Monday evening he seemed ir,ore cheerful than usua l , and! retited with bis wife. About 2 o'cl ck he appsared to be sleeping soundly Mrs. Earp woke ag in sho tly lefote six o'clo k and found he had left he «ide. She roso at once, and go ng into the kitch9n found him quite dead. He had in his hand a knife with which | he had severed the main arterie3 on 'ha light side of his neck end hari b'ed to death.
