The meeting in the Whitley Hall on Wednesday should attract a large gathering to hear the addresses on Methodism, and it? relation to the present century. From a special wire received last night we learn tint the Turanaki Garrison Band has ) een specially selected for the guard of honour at to-day's camp. The order created a great surprise and the compliment is highly appreciated by the band. At a meeting of the Unity Tent of the 1.0 Rechabites a resolution of condolence with the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows was passed at the loss their order h>d sustained in the death of Mr. James Bellringer. A resolution of condolence with the wife and family was also passed and ordered to he sent to Mrs Bellringer. The next ordinary meeting of the Taranaki County Council has been fixed for Monday. July Bth. At the Wanganui 'Police Court a man named McGregor, charged with having on the Bth June, used indecent language in Cook's Gardens during the progress of a foottall match, within the hearing of persons on the ground, was sentenced to be imprisoned till 8 o'clock in the evening. In passing sentence, the Magistrate (Mr Kettle) severely lectured accused, remarking that such language as he had u ed wonld keep I respectable people from ittending football ! matches, and that be (Mr Kettle) would severely punish offenders who came before him.
