HOCKEY.
At a Committee meeting of the New Plymouth Hoskey Club held on Mon day evening, it was decided to postpon* accepting the Haweiu Club's challengi for next Thursday. To create a keener inter.'et amonj meiubars, and showing their faults, s board with a criticism of their play will be placed on the ground. As likely matches with other club are likely to lake place in the neai future, a series of games are to bi pl*yed by teams A and B. made up o those who attend the practice nex Thursday, and from whom, accordin| to their play, the team for the se*soi will be picked. As the members wh< play on Saturday afternoon^ show thi qualit'es of good players, their play will ba watched by members of the Commit* 08 with a view to including the host players in the match team.
