Five of the Chinamen arrested yesday have preferred a counter charge of threatening to murder against those at whose instance they were apprehended. T he authorities do not consider the Singleton plague scare necessitates taking any addition precautions in regard co the inspection of vessels from Australian ports. The first application for exemption from vaccination under the new Public Health Act, was granted by the Stipendiary Magistrate to-day.
