BOWLING.

MB PRBSB AB9OOUTIOH. Wellington, September 22. The annual report of the Northern Bowling Association states that though the idea of a North v. South Island match has not yet been taken up by oar southern friends, there is every likelihood ot its coming off in connection with the tournament to be held in y Ohristohurch during the Jubilee celebrations there about the middle of January next. Initiatory steps have been taken in that direction. A movement has been made, initiated by the New South Wales Association, for the formation of an Australasian Bowling Association, having for its object the assimilation of the laws of the game in the various affiliated wienies, and the promotion of bawling generally. The idea is certainly a good one if the desired result can be attained, bnt we fear that as there are several points on which we are thoroughly in line with the Scottish and English clubs, we will not be able to view matters in the same light as j oar Australian brethren.
