THE STOKE ORPHANAGE ENQUIRY.
(MB BBBS3 ASSOCIATION.) Nelson, September 22. The hearing of five charges of indecent assault against Wybertus was resumed this morning. The crossexamination by the defence being deferred according to previous arrangement, therefore the Magistrate's decision will not be given to-day. The (details are unfit for publication. Latee, Counsel this morning agreed to take evidence in the four remaining informations against Brother Wybertus of indecency, simultaneously. Witnesses came from as far away as New Plymouth, Kaponga, Eketahuna, and Mangaweka. The evidence was not concluded at the time the Court adY journed at one. o'clock and will resume on Monday, when Mr. Fell for the defence will intimate whether he intends to cross-examine. After these cases are concluded others of common assault will be proceeded with. The accused was allowed the same bail as previously.
