ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

OTAGO V. AUCKLAND, (FBt FBBBB ABBOdATIOIC.) Auckland, September 22. Tie association football match, Otago T. Auckland, was played at Auckland to-day. Auckland winning the toss, elected to play with the wind and sun at their backs. There was no scoring at half-time, although Otago had the beat of the game. In the second half Otago, after pressing most of the spell, scored in the last minute of the game owing to a mistake by the Auckland & goal-keeper. No doubt the best team won, as Otago showed superior play in all departments, and it would do Auckland good to take a lesson in combination from the Southern team, i l ', ,' " i '■., =
