Some very good material was present, and if our young men would practise regularly they would be able to give a very good account cf themselves. Last Saturday the schoolboys followed in the steps of their elders, and defeated those from Egmont Road school. (J

On Tuesday evening the Church or England concert came off. There was a crowded house, and every item was vigorously applauded, and in the case of the songs of Miss Drake, the llev. Mr. Bennett, and the Maoris, encores could not be resisted, as was also the case with the Rev. Mr. Rawnsley's comic recitations. After which followed a laughable farce, "Chopstick and Spikens," in which the characters were taken by Mrs. L'indsborough, Miss Freeling, Miss Halloran, Miss Power, Mr. Mott'att, and Mr. Stout. After the National Anthem had been B&ng, the youth and beauty of the district commenced the distribution of supper, and a very difficult task it proved, as the crowd was so greit that it was almost impossible for tho waitresses to get about. Bath difficulties were surmounted and everyono got served in time. After the church party was over, Eome of the young people cleared the forms and enjoyed a few hours dancing.
