ADELPHI DRAMATIC COMPANY.
This most talented organisation, under the management of Messrs. Hodge and Harper, has been touring the North Island with enormous success, and intend paying a visit to New Plymouth to play a short season of two nights. Their first production will be one of Dion Boticicault's most famous drama*, namely, Arrah-na-Pogue. Most of the members of this company will be recognised by the theatre-goers of this town, having been here before under the management of Mr. Eobert Henry (of Henry's Dramatic Company). Mr. George Harper (who was here with the Dora Mostyn Company) will appear in his great role as Shaun ' The Post," and will sing the favourite song " The Wearin o' the Green." Mr Humphries will appear as Michael Feeney, *' the dirty informer." The Patea Press says:—"The performance and make-up of Mr. Humphries as Michael Feeney is perfection, in fact the whole compiny are equally well, nothing being left wanting," Their second production will be the sensotional military drama "In the Ranks." We will have more to say about this in a later edition. See day bills and advertisements for further particulars.
