A DESPERATE FIGHT.

NATIVES' MAGNIFICENT STAND AGAINST THE BOEKS. (Keceived 29,1.20 p.m.) Sydney, May 29. The Ccq>e Times, under date ftlafeking, April 14th, says that on Friday occurred one of thn most dramatic incidents of the war. Twenty-five Fingo2S under the leadership of two Biralong natives, who undertook to show where a good haul of cattle could be made, left the town intending to capture them. One of the Baralongs led them into a trap, where they were surrounded and attacked by a p trol of Boers. So woll did the Fingocs fight that the Boets were compelled to draw off and await reinforcements. Although outnumbered the native Fingces fell back upon a pan. The Boers brought another 100 men with a MannlichtrMaxim and a Maxirn-Nordenf ]Jt, surrounded the pan, and opened a rauiderous fire. The leader if the natives, named Undebjzii, rallied his men, and there was a repetition of Wilson's stand upon the Shaugani. From 'he rising to the sinking of the tun the Fingoes, armed with obsolete jilles, fought, grim, desperate, o.r.d determined, against a merciless foe. Bath machine guns and Mausers poured a perfect sheet of steel in their whilst Nordenfe'Jt shells cracked round like fireworks. They fought until their ammunition was finished. The Bo?r= killed tnem to a man. One wounded man escaped. The natives killed cix Boers and wounded a great number.
