INVALIDED SOLDIERS.
ARRIVAL OF MEN IN SYDNEY. (Received 2'.i, 8 p.m.) Sydney, i>!ay 29. There was litlla enthusiasm t>-day over the arrival of the invalided soldiers from South Africa, though there was a crowd in the streets to witness the p ecession from the wharf to the Inrracks. There was no military display made, and the absence of music made the function tame. The public had also, apparently, exhausted their enthusiasm over the Mafekirg relief , celebrations. The military authorities t entertained the men and a number of . leading citizens at lunch. i NEW ZEALANDERS IN THE PARTY. (Received 29,11.20 p.m.) Sydney, May 29.
Sir W. J. Lyne, Premier, and others, in patriotic speeches, warmly welcomed, the invalided Australasian soldiers from South Africa, including the Mew Zealanders.
