M. Dixon, at Wanganui today. A fire occurred at thg works on April 23, when Bovey and several other men were engaged in work attendant upon the unloading of sulphur from trucks by ’fneans of an elevator. The evidence of men working with Bovey in the elevator compartment was that in replacing a belt on a pulley the elevator ran back and a spark was created which ignited sulphur dust. Stuart Mitchell, inspector of machinery, said the elevator was Standard equipment designed to meet all normal use, plus a margin of safety.
