PHEASANTS IN THE OPEN

IMPROVED BAGS OBTAINED North Auckland Reports Press Association—Copy-right. Whangarei, June 14. As the result of the fine weather of the past week pheasants l have been leaving the bush and coming into the open, with the result that improved bags have been obtained by sportsmen. Good marksmen are averaging bags of between three and four pheasants, which is considered quite satisfactory. Particularly good results have been obtained in the Pipiwai, Taranui and Mangakahia districts, and several sportsmen report having obtained seven or eight birds in one 'lay.
