TWO-MILE CRAWL
FARM HAND’S ORDEAL Caught By Explosion Press Association—Copyright Hammilton, May 26. After being severely- injured in the legs through the explosion of some gelignite, Mr Tony Urlich, a ftirm hand, aged 35, of Te Hoe, crawled on his hands and knees' through a number of paddocks to his wjiare, almost two miles away. There he was found by his employer, Mr R. W. Read, and was taken, to hospital in 'a serious condition. Mi* Urlich had been blasting stumps on Mr Read s farm and was working alone. When a stick of gelignite- failed to explode he returned to investigate and it exploded without warning under his feet. Wi-h b'ttle chance of being found, Mr Urlich commenced an arduous and painful journey and it. was not until he was outside his whare, where he lives by himself, that his., cries attracted his employer. A St. John ambulance conveyed him to the Waikato Hospital.
