Hon. H. G. R. Mason, AttorneyGeneral, returned 'to Wellington from Mas ter ton yesterday. Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, will return to Wellington from he South Island to-day. Hon. P. Fraser, Acting-Prime Minister, left Wellington to-day for Hawera, where he will open the South TaiUnaki Winter Show to-night. Mr T. M. Hinkley, new manager of the United Press Association, left Sydney by the Maunganui for Wellington yesterday. At last, night’s meeting of the Stratford School Commi Iteei, congratulations were extended to Mr IJ J. Furrie, headmaster, on hi s receiving the Coronation Medal. Mr H. R. Saunders advised last night’s meeting of the Stratford Technical High School Boacd of his intention to resign from the teaching staff in SeptfAnber. The board expressed A ppreciation of his services. A London cable message says that Miss Christine Parr, youngest daughter of Sir James Parr, is affianced o Mr William Geoffrey Hornby, younger son of Rev. W. Hornby, of he Isle of Man. Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Undersecretary in charge of housing, left Wellington for the South Island last evening. During the next few days he will be engaged in official business connected with the Governmemt’s lousing activities in Christchurch and/ i s environs, i Before returning to Wellington at the end of the week he will visit Blenheim and Picton.
