SOUND BATTING

MATCH AT CARDIFF Encouraging Newspaper Comment « (From the special correspondent of the United Press Association). (Received 11.30 a.m.) Cardiff, May 16. The Sunday papers are again encouragingly kindly in their comment on the cricket match, New Zealand versus Glamorgan, saying that though the batting of the New Zealanders was quiet, it was thoroughly sound. They express the conviction that the team will make big scores when the batsmen work into form. It is expected that if the weather is fine, which is probable, a big crowd will be present on Whit Monday, which is a holiday throughout Wales. Saturday’s attendance was about 3000. The team attended a greyhoundi racing meeting oh Saturday night, and were taken for a drive on Sunday to picturesque Porthcawl, a seaside resort known as the “Gem of the Severn Sea.”
