Death Of Townsville Swimmer Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, May 17. A young man, William Tennant, when attempting Ito swim across Ross Creek, Townsville, was attacked by a shark when 10 yeurds from th» shore he was trying to reach. Tennant was taken ashore by a ferryman, but died on the way to hospital. He hadl lost his left arm and right leg, while hit right arm was badly gashed. Earlier in the week a 6001 b. shark was caught in Ross Creek, about 100 yards from where the tragedy occurred.
