Struck by a half-ton lorry ana thrown up on the hoodi, Christian Albert Hadler, a labourer, aged 56, was killed on ithe main nor'h road near Amberley on Saturday evening about 6.30. Alex. T. Waddell and ing director of Thoe. Waddell and Sons, steel founders, Christchurch, died this afternoon from injuries received when a car driven by his wife struck a stone culvert near Amberley a|t 5 p.m.. on Saturday. Mr and Mrs Waddell, with two other passengers, were returning from the Amberley races. When turning »a sharp corner the car ran across the road and struck the culvert ait the other side. Mr Waddell suffered a fractured skull and other injuries. Mrs Waddell had an arm broken. The car was badly damaged and part of the culvert was carried away.
