SERVICES APPRECIATED
DR. W. BROWN’S WORK Ambulance Brigade And Hospital Board Presentations By way of appreciation of his services as lecturer and examiner, members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade made a presentation last evening to Dr W. Brown. Medical Superintendent of the Stratford Hospital, who leaves this week for Central Otago. Mr A. H. R. Amess thanked Dr Brown for his assistance, and said that without the aid given by the medical profession it would have been impossible to carry on the Masses. He expressed the regret of members at Dr Brown’s departure and conveyed their good wishes. Tn reply Dr Brown said he was pleased that hp had been able to help in anyway and. thank the members for the gift received. Had it not been for the help of mepibers of the Ambulance Brigade it would have been impossible to carry out the transport of sick and injured people in the district in the way in which it had been done. Mr J. L. O. Rowe, Divisional Superintendent, also thanked Dr Brown for his assistance and mentioned the ambulance transport work so efficiently carried out by Mr G. Buckley. Members of the Stratford Hospital Board met Dr and Mrs Brown on Saturday night, when the chairman, Mr T. R. Anderson, presented Dr Brown with a pen set as an indication )f the board’s appreciation of his services. Members of the board also made a presentation to Mrs Brown.
