Sir Austen Chamberlain’s Seat. I London, April 12. i A fierce by-election contest has opened ait West Birmingham for the j seat occupied by the late Sir Austen Chamberlain. Polling day will be April 29. The candidates are Mr Walter Higgs (National Conservative) and Mr Richard Crossman (Labour). Sir Austen Chamberlain and his father occupied Ithe seat for 52 years.
