Madame Elsa Stralia. After spending IS months in Anstralia, Mr and Mrs A. Christensen, of Patea, returned to Auckland recently by the Awatea. Mrs Chrietensen (Madame Elsa Stralia, the well- | known singer) has now definitely re- j tired from public appearance. She I and Mr Christensen are considering I taking up residence in Auckland. j Mrs Christensen made her final public appearance in Wanganui about , a year ago. In Australia she gave a j brief performance for the benefit of I patients in the Melbourne Hospital. ! About two year:: ago Madame Stralia j made a tour of New Zealand, singing i ovef the air from the main broadcasting stations. She and Mr Christen- ■ sen, a resident of Patea toy many i years, were married in Sydney about 17 months ago.
