An appeal for co-operation In the efforts no-v.' being made to build up the organisation of the National Par y was made by Mr J. Hargest, M.P. for Awarua, in an address to a meeting of party supporters at Remuera to-night. Mr W. P. Endean, M.P., hi an introductory speech, urged those present to “see that this fool’s paradito ceases and that the country gets down to sound, sensible economic ideas.” Mr Endean denied a statement which be said had been circulated by a “whispering campaign” to the effect that he did not Intend l to stand at the next general election. He said he most certainly meant to stand. Mr Hargest criticised the Govern- « ment’s work, saying it had not kept its general ejection campaign promises, particularly regarding fixation. the cost of living and unemployment. Mr Hargest was given a good reception.
