SERIOUS INJURIES.

Elderly Woman’s Death. Press Association—Cooyr'siht. Auckland, Last Night. Severe head injuries, the result of an alleged attack, caused the death in the Auckland Hospital late this afternoon of Mrs. Mary Gage-Brown, aged 87, a resident of Epsom. It is alleged Mrs. Gage-Brown was attacked at her home yesterday morning and that the injuries were inflicted to her head with a four-pound scale weight. It is stated that Mrs. Gage-Brown’s husband was discharged from a mental hospital only three weeks ago, the wife giving an undertaking that she would not hold the authorities responsible for anything that might happen in the future. After the woman had been attacked she was rushed to the Auckland Hospital and her husband was taken back to the mental hospital.
