Discussion of Air Pageant Proposal. The proposal to hold an air pig«ant during Coronation Week waa discussed al a meeting of the Coronation Committee last night, when it was decided that arrangements.' ba left to the S'liatford Aero Club. Mr. P. Tho nson said Union Airways might sent a.) air liner to attendl the pageant. The Controller of Civil Aviation, Wing-Commander T. M. Wilkes, in reply to the committee’s inquiry whether the aepodi ome could be used said an inspection might not be possible, but the committee could go on with the larrangemei ts. A luncheon for both town and country school chillren will be held on the Wednesday of the Coronation week, after which the children will attend the air pageant. Mr. Amess said the Government would not make a grant towards souvenirs for the childlren. A tub committee was set up to rqake arrangements for the children’s day. Mr. A. E. Pollock reported that full arrangements had been made for a ball on Coronation night. It was decided to put off the seven-a-sid'e football tournament because ;he Rugby Union found it difficult to errange for it. It was decided to ask the union not to arrange for mid-week matches at Stratford. The Horticultural Society is to proceed with the securing of suitable trees for stree'nsidb plantfng along Broadway. The Mayor, Mr. J. W. McMillan, said the Borough Council would provide protection for the trees. Mr. A. H. R. Amess said the Drama League cWtould present a three act play it was rehearsing. Mr. J. W. McMillan, Dr. D. Steven and Mr. T. R. Anderson were elected a finance committee.
