Bank of New Zealand Directorate. Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, April 6. The Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser, announced to-night that Mr. A. T. Donnelly, Christchurch, has been reappointed Government nominee on the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand and that the vacancy caused by the expiry of the term of office of Sir George Elliott has been filled by the appointment of Mr. John Dowgray, of Granity. Mr. Dowgray, a native of Lanarkshire, came to the Dominion 30 years ago. He took an active part in local body affairs in Scotland. Since his arrival In New Zealand he became one of the original founders of the Miners' Federation. He was president of the Millerton Miners’ Union for ten years, president of the Miners’ District Council, treasurer of the Federation of Labour, and later vice-president of the Federation of Labour. He was also chairman of the Granity school committee tor 21 years and a member of the library committe also. For the past sixteen years Mr Dowgray has been on the staff of the Westport Coal Company as an underviewer at the Millerton Mine.
