First Day’s Play in Annual Tournament. The Stratford Croquet Club's' annual tournament was commenced yesterday, 14 games being completed. Results are: A Singles. Section B: Mrs Burgess (Stratford) beat Mrs Jenkins (Avon) 26-13; Mrs. Alger (Stratford) beat Mrs. Harkness 26 23. A Doubles. Mesdames Gatton land Knight (Stratford) beat Miesdames Hillock and Masters (Stratford) 23-22; Mesdamea Bamford and Burgess (Stratford) beat Mesdames Jenkins and Lampshire (Avon) 26-7. A and B Doubles. M:-sd-ames Moon (Stratford) and Bowie (Avon) beat Mesdames Dickinson and White (Stratford) 26-21; Mesclames Butchart and Cook (Stratford) beat Mesdames Knight (Stratford) and Clark (Avon) 26-16. Intermediate Singles. A section: Mrs. Summerfield (Stratford) beat Mrs. Dickinson (Stratford) 26 6. B Singles Mrs. Blick and Miss Thompson (Stratford) beat Mesdames Clark and Galbraith (Avon) 23-12; Mesdames Macßae and Bowie (Avon) beat Mesdames Gov.fer and Clare (Eltham) 21 18. C Singles. Section A: Mrs. Childs (Stratfoid) beat Mrs. Healy (Stratford) 26-22; Mrs. Allen (Avon) beat Mre. Healy (Stratford) 26-20.
