COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL
Violin Championship to Miss Betty Bulman. The winners of three aggregate events at the New Plymouth Competition Society’s festival, were announced last night at follows: Plano championship, Mr. C. Horsley, Wanganui; violin championship. Miss Betty Bulman, Stratford, and Mr. L. G. Thcrkleson, New Plymouth, equal; ladies’ vocal solo. Miss G. Grjenwoor. New .Plymouth. New Plymouth Choral Society, Mr. R. L. Cooper, conductor, was first in the choir contest (Blanchett shield), unaccompanied. New Plymouth Philharmonic Choral Society being second, and White’s Ltd., third. | In the ladiei’ vocal solo class, Kliss M. Brown (Stratford), and Miss May Lander (Hawera), were equal, third, among eleven entries. In the boys’ Highland Fling (10 years and under 12), P. Alleman (Stratford), was first.
