FIRE AT GREYTOWN.
Newspaper Office Destroyed. G'reymouth, April 1. The building and plant of the “Wairarapa Standard,” Greytown, were totally destroyed by fire between 10 o’clock and 10.30 last night. Owing to a breakdown of the firebell the alarm was not given until the fire had a good hold, and although the brigade did good work it wlas uniable to Lave the building or plant. The frames, cases and type were all destroyed. The cause of the outbreak is not
Mr. R. G. Vile, editor and proprietor of the Standard, was attending a farewell to Rev C. H. IsaiacLon, vicar of Grey town, when he was informed that the building vas on fire.
