To-day’s Training Operations Press Association—Copyright. Auckland, April 1. No. 1 grass track, on which the poles were out sft.. was available for fast work at Elledslie this morning, and the going was good, some smart sprints being recorded. Star Artist and Rollicker finished together at the end of half a mile in 48 2-ssec. This was a good effort.

Mazir and Royal Appellant beat Sinking Fund over a round in 1.54 2-5. the last six furlongs taking 1.19 2-5. Impasto pleased while covering sixi furlongs Tn 1.17. Surella beat Glen Abb over five furlongs in 1.3 3-5, while Waitaka was too good for Haputale at the end of a similar distance, the last four furlongs taking 50 2-ssec. After covering their first two furlongs in 25sec„ Marjory Daw and Roll completed five furlongs in 1.4.

Prince Rang! galloped seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5, the last half-mile taking 52 4-ssec. Bass was slightly in front of School Song at the finish of six furlongs in 1.1 93-5, the last four occupying 52 4-5 sec.

Crooning got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.17. Lady Kyra ran right away from Bonny Glow over the concluding stages of five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Shy covered a round in 1.53 2-ssec., the last six furlongs being done in 1.19 3-5. Land Girl joined him at the half-mile and finished several lengths in front, in 50-2-ssec.

At ‘Avondale this morning, fast work was carried out on the course proper, the poles being 40ft. out from the rails. The going was good. Strathire and King Theo were sent six furlongs. They ran the first three in 38 3-ssec., and covered the full journey in 1.17 1-5. It was a good effort, as they went practically, from a standing start.

Golden Sheila and Lornacre were on terms after reeling off five furlongs in 1.4. The latter got an advantage of several lengths at the start, but waited upon his companion. Velocipede did pace work over a couple of rounds, traversing the last seven furlongs in 1.42 3-5. He was showing signs of lameness after workbut has done this on several occasions previously.
