MORE FACTORIES IDLE. Series of Conferences. Press Association —Copyright. Detroit, March 25. The Governor of Michigan, Mr. F. Murphy, yesterday obtained an agreement from Mr. J. L. Lewis, head of Che Committee of Industrial Organisation, to order the immediate evacuation of eight Chrysler motor plants. Six thousand sit-down strikers to-day evacuated nine factories. The Chrysler plant strikers ratified yesterday’s* agreement almost unanimously. The Chrysler company will not resume production at the affected plants or move machinery during the collective bargaining which will follow. The Mayor, Mr. Couzens, lessened fears of a general strike when he ordered the police not to interfere with sib-do-Wn strikers in the small plants. President Roosevelt to-day announced’that he would hold a series of conferences with Congress leaders in regard to the sit-down strike epidemic as soon as he returns to Washington on Saturday. The Canadian Miniser op Justice, Mr. E. Lapointe, in the House of Commons at Ottawa, declared that, sitdown would be outlawed by the Government, which would use its Cull powers' to prevent their gaining a foothold.
