Interesting Career.
Brigadier H. A. Tomkinson, whose death occurred in England recently, bad the distinction of being racing manager to three reigning monarchs. He was appointed to that position in January, 1932, by King George V., in succession to Major Featherstonbaugh, 'Who died in July, 1931. Brigadier Tomkinson, who was' 55 years old, was a successful steeplechase rider before the war and was one of the finest horsemen in his generation. A first-class rider to hounds, he Was also one of the best polo players in the British Army, and was a member of the English polo team which won the Westchester Cup from America In 1914. On retiring from the army, he became a stipendiary steward of the Calcutta Turf Club.
