The continued progress of the Government’s slum clearance and rehousing campaign it. l shown in the returns for February ad January respectively. The total number of houses in cofirmed areas is now 131.000. involving l the displacement of 556,148 persons. Ait the end of January there rwtere 58,140 houses under construction compared with 56,549 at the end o* December. In January 5761 bou»e were completed, eoimirv”— ! uring December.
