CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Monthly Meeting Of Business Council. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Stratford Chamber cf Commerce was held last night, i-’inal arrangements for to-day's rec ption to the president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, Mr M. G. C. McCaul, were made and a general discussion took place on various aspects of the chamber’s work. A letter was received from the Stratford postmaster, Mr C. E. Scott, in reply to the Chamber’s retjuest that in the local edition of it."ne telephone directory, the names of Stratford subscribers should be lifted first. The postmaster regretted Tnat, owing to the difficulties of arranging for special liftings, it Was not possible for his department to accede to the Chamber’s request. In order to make the Stratford listings more readily accessible, however, it had been decided to print the local section in a distinctive colour, light green. It was decided to thank the postmaster for his efforts to meet the chamber’s request.

Those present were: Messrs F. T. Hale (president), J. B. Richards, E. J. R. G. Watson, D. R. McLean; R. Bowie (stationmast-r), F. W. Lindup (P.W.D.) and F. E. Clarko (secretary).
