Recommendation of Stratford Society. The Council of the Stratford Accli. matisation Society at last night’s meeting recom|mended the society to join the proposed Federation of North Island (West Coast) Acclimatisation Societies. The recommendation will go before a general meeting of the members. It was reported that the liberation of 10,000 fish on Saturday in the Batea and tributaries and in me WamgongorO was accomplished suecesffully. The fish were in wonderful condition, it was stated, and next week a further batch would be liberated in the upper reaches of the Man. ganui and its tributaries. Messrt Caskey and Hunter -were appointed visiting committee for March and April. • Those present were: Mess-s E. G Jones (chairman), A. E. Hunter, J. p. Caskey, J. Petrie, G. Richardson, c. Atkinson, N. O. Ebbett, and E. C. Worthington.
