ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE.
Fortnightly Meeting Held Last Night. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Stratford Lodge of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows, Was held in the lodge room last evening, I.P.N.G. Bro. A. G. Bal presiding over an attendance of 70 mem, bers, including visitors from Patea, Eltham, Kaiponga, Rahotu and New Plymouth
D.G.M. Bro. Renton and District Officers paid their annual visit to the Lodge and were Welcomed bj Bro. Beal. Bro. Renton suitably replied and congratulated the Lodge on the progress made during the past 12 months. 1 .
District Officers explained to members the business transacted during the year, giving details of the progress, both financially and numerically, which had been made. There had been a wonderful growth of the Order in the province.
An interesting address on Health insurance was given by the District Secretary. Bro. N. B. Bellringer. Two new candidates. 1 Were initiat'd and welcomed to the Order by the District Grand Master.
At the conclusion of business supper was served by the ladies, after which members' spent the remainder of the evening dancing to music supplied by Sis. Brown and Rogers and Bro. Sharpe. Bro. Horridgcl, of Patea, gave vocal items.
