DROVER FINED.
Sheep Grazing On Cordelia Street. On a charge of grazing sheep on Cordelia Street, O. H. Currie was convicted aud fined £1 (costs 10s) in the Stratford Court to-day. JJ f ndant wrote explaining that early in the morning he started to drive sheep and lambs to the Stratford sale yards, some of which strayed down Cordelia Street. While driving them back the Inspector came along and told him to take them off the road. lie said defendant was unlucky. In any case the breach. If any, could only be a technical one, de fendant wrote. H rbert Dixon (borough ranger) said he had found that defendant's statement Wat not true. There had been a number of complaints of damage from householders. Defendant had been previously warped. On a further charge of driving sheep other than on a stock route. Currie was convicted and discharged.
