Emergency Supplies At Manganui Hut. A decision to place a supply of provisions at the Maunganui Hut for use in case of emergency was made by the East Committee of the Egmont National Park Board at last night's meeting. The committee was advised that at the last meeting of the Egmont National Park Board it was decided to grant to each committee £2 to enable the committee to provide an emergency supply of necessaries at the higher level huts in its control for use in emergencies and the hope was. expressed that committees would be able to place supplies in a secure Position so that they would be avail-

able on necessity. The chairmen. Mr T. R. Anderson, . said that at the meeting of the Board |it hud been reported that certain I emergency provision had been placed • at the Syme Hut but they Were not to | be found when required by a party of I searchers. The question of ensuring I that supplies would be available when 1 r quired had then been discussed by | the Board. | Mr Brian McMillan said that arI rangements could be made for emer- | gency supplies at the Maunganui Hut I but it would be necessary to have a I container similar to the medicine Idlest already at the hut. The matter was left, in the hands of Ihe Chairman and Mr McMillan to make arrangements.
