SPECIAL STAMP ISSUE.

To Celebrate Coronation In England. Press Association—Copyright. London, January 16. Tile preparation of a special issue of stamps to celebrate the Coronation is being considered by a committee of experts at the General Post Office. As May 12 if: so near a Coronation issue, if found practicable, would be limited to two or three lower values and to a number that would be used in the course of a few* Weeks. Designs for a Coronation issue of stamps in special colours bearing the head of Ed'wtard VIII. had just been submitted for approval when bis abdication was announced. Now the task is being started afresh. It wdll.be remembered that there was a special issue of George V stamp® to celebrate the Silver Jubilee in 1936. The plans l for the King George VI. Coronation stamp will probably' follow similar lines. ' In the normal course about six or eight months must elapse between the accession of a King and the issue of the stamps of the nevi reign, and the' first ortliriary George VI. issue is not expected before July at the earliest.
