Sydney Policemen Proceed Against Government.

Press Association—Copyright. Received 11.10 a.m. Sydney, To-day. Thirteen policemen. have Issued writs out of the Supreme Court, each claiming £lO,OOO damages, agalntt a nominal defendant, the Under-Secre-tary of Justice. The cause of the action is not disclosed but it has been stated that this action against the Government is being taken by those me|mbers of the force who were dismissed in December following Judge Markell’s report on starting-price betting.
