STRATFORD EXTENSION.

Once Suggested As Site For Railway Station. Recent discussion regarding the Stratford railway station site has recalled to old residents a suggestion made years ago that the railway station should be located on the Stratford extension At the northern end of the borough. In the days ‘of early settlement this area was subdivided into bniiding sections and streets, but to-day part of the land is still covered in bush and tree stumps. Four years ago the Borough Council received an inquiry from England as to the value of certain sections in the extension. It is in this area that Cassandra, Oberon, and Tybalt streets were surveyed, but these names are familiar only to those who have occasion to consult a map of the borough.
