GENERAL SATISFACTION.
Freezing Workers Accept New Terms. Press Association—Copyright. Auckland, To-day. The decision of the Minister of ■ Labour, Hon. H. T. Armstrong, in the freezing industry dispute regarding wages and conditions of employment has given fairly general satisfaction to employees at the Westfield and Southdown works. “We have not got all we expected and strove for under our action | which culminated in the stay-in tac- I tics at the works,” said a delegato • who was concerned in the negotiations with the Minister when he visited Auckland and intervened in the dispute. “A large majority of workers at freezing works throughout New Zealand will benefit by the ■ decision, and those who still have j grievances in regard to piecework i rates and the 40-hour week will un- i doubtedly stand by the agreement j and await further consideration at ; the expiry of the award in Juns.”
